Being a good advocate doesn’t stop at the courthouse doors. It shows up in the community you’re part of the rest of the week too. That’s why our team pulled on the capes again for the 2025 Candlelighters Superhero 5K right here in Las Vegas.
A morning built on heart
The Superhero 5K is an annual event hosted by the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada, and it’s exactly the kind of morning that sticks with you. Families, survivors, volunteers, and supporters all come together — capes and all — to raise money and awareness for kids and families facing pediatric cancer. There’s a lot of energy, a lot of hope, and more than a few high fives along the way.
Childhood cancer is never just about the child. It reaches every corner of a family’s life, and Candlelighters works year-round to be there for all of it — emotional support, financial help, and the kind of practical guidance families need when everything else has been turned upside down.
Team Marathon showed up in full force
Our crew — attorneys, staff, family, and friends — came out together, decked out in superhero gear from the starting line to the finish. Some ran, some walked, some cheered everyone else on. What stood out most, though, wasn’t the running. It was the reminder of why the day matters. The strength these kids and families show is humbling, and it’s a big part of what “going the distance” means to us.
Why we keep coming back
Supporting the Superhero 5K has become a tradition for us, and it’s an easy one to keep. It’s a chance to:
- Honor the courage of Nevada’s young cancer warriors
- Stand with families facing something no family should have to
- Raise real money for programs that change lives
- Spread awareness across our city and state
