Meet Boris Avramski: Co-Founder of Marathon Law Group

Every attorney has a story, but few paths to the courtroom look anything like Boris Avramski’s. Co-founder and partner at Marathon Law Group, Boris went from Bulgaria to circus troupes in the United States, from scholar-athlete to a law degree earned with distinction. It’s a journey built on resilience and plain hard work — and it’s the same energy he brings to his clients’ cases today.

Boris is a trusted advocate for Nevada clients in personal injury, family law, and civil litigation. Here’s how he got here.

From Bulgaria to the United States

Boris was born and raised in Bulgaria, where he grew up fluent in Bulgarian and picked up a working comprehension of Russian. At just 16, in 1991, he came to the United States to perform with circus troupes — including at the world-famous Circus Circus in Reno and Las Vegas. Those early years taught him discipline, adaptability, and the value of grinding toward a bigger goal.

Academic excellence at the University of North Dakota

In 1997, that discipline paid off with a presidential scholarship to the University of North Dakota. His time at UND was, by any measure, a run of hard-earned wins:

  • He competed on the swimming and diving team while carrying a full academic load.
  • He earned the Athletic Director’s Academic Achievement Award — twice.
  • He made the Dean’s List every year.
  • He was inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society, reserved for the top 10% of business students.
  • He won a string of scholarships, including the J.F.T. O’Connor Scholarship Award (four years running), the General Mohamed Kabbaj Scholarship (four consecutive years), and the Frasca International Aviation Award in 2000.

In 2001, Boris graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Aviation Management.

Law school and trial training

Boris went on to the University of North Dakota School of Law, graduating with distinction in 2008. He didn’t just study the law — he got his hands on it. He joined the Student Trial Lawyer Association to sharpen his courtroom skills and took part in the clinical education program, representing clients under the supervision of experienced attorneys. That early trial training still shows up in how he prepares cases.

Returning to Las Vegas

After law school, Boris came back to Las Vegas — the same city where he’d once performed as a teenager — to build his legal career. He passed the Nevada Bar and hung out his own shingle, practicing as a sole practitioner for more than eight years across a genuinely wide range of law:

  • Personal injury — car accidents, slip and falls, and other injury cases
  • Immigration — helping families navigate complex federal processes
  • Bankruptcy — guiding clients through debt relief and a fresh start
  • Family law — divorce, custody, and support matters
  • Civil litigation — resolving disputes with a focus on fairness

That breadth gave him something a lot of attorneys never develop: a real understanding of how legal problems ripple through people’s whole lives.

Co-founding Marathon Law Group

Eventually, Boris co-founded Marathon Law Group, PLLC, where he serves as a partner. The name says a lot about the philosophy — going the distance for clients, however long and hard the road. Today he focuses on personal injury, family law, and civil litigation, bringing a global perspective, serious academic rigor, and courtroom determination to every file.

Why clients choose Boris

Clients tend to point to the same things:

  • A one-of-a-kind background. From Bulgaria to Las Vegas, Boris connects with people from every walk of life.
  • Discipline and precision. The same drive that earned a Summa Cum Laude degree goes into building his cases.
  • Courtroom readiness. Years of trial training make him a serious advocate when it counts.
  • An approachable style. He listens, explains, and makes sure clients understand each step.

In a city as diverse as Las Vegas, it means something to have an attorney who not only knows the law but also gets what it’s like to start over in a new country and work for everything you have.

A case that reflects his approach

Take a familiar situation: a client is struck by a negligent driver, needs extensive treatment, and the insurer digs in to minimize the payout. Boris’s response is to lean on his trial preparation — assembling thorough medical evidence and holding the insurer accountable rather than accepting the first number offered. In cases like these, that refusal to back down is often what secures a recovery that covers both immediate and long-term care.

Every case is different, and past results don’t guarantee a similar outcome.
