Just been in a Las Vegas car accident? Follow this checklist to protect your health and your legal rights.
At the Scene
Step 1 — Check yourself and all passengers for injuries. Call 911 for any injuries and to get a police report filed.
Step 2 — Do not admit fault or apologize to any other party.
Step 3 — Exchange information with all drivers: name, contact, insurance, and license plate.
Step 4 — Get contact information from all witnesses.
Step 5 — Photograph everything — vehicles, damage, license plates, road conditions, traffic signals, and your injuries.
Step 6 — If in a casino or hotel parking garage, immediately request that security preserve all surveillance footage.
Within 24 Hours
Step 7 — See a doctor the same day. Adrenaline masks pain and some serious injuries do not produce obvious symptoms immediately.
Step 8 — Notify your insurance company that an accident occurred.
Step 9 — Do not give a recorded statement to the other driver’s insurance company. Decline politely and say you are consulting an attorney.
Step 10 — Contact Marathon Law Group for a free consultation.
What Not to Do
Do not post about the accident on social media. Do not sign any documents from the insurance company without consulting Marathon Law Group. Do not accept any settlement offer without understanding the full value of your claim.
